Make My Event Come To LifeThe Dragon Dance has been performed since the Han Dynasty 1800 years ago. The Chinese dragon is a symbol of power, wealth and wisdom and is associated with storm clouds and life-giving rain.
The Dragon Dance is an important part of Chinese New Year celebrations and is used to scare away evil spirits, but is also an important part of many other festivals and special functions.
It is linked to good luck, long life and wisdom.
The performers create intricate moves with the front troupe member manipulating the head of the dragon and the rest manipulating the body.
At the front a performer has a ‘Pearl of Wisdom’ on a pole and tempts the Dragon to follow to the beat of a drum, as if chasing the pearl of wisdom and knowledge.
The Dragon Dance can be performed during the day or at night. When performed at night the Dragon turns luminous as it’s fluorescent colours come to life through special lighting which makes the whole performance even more enchanting.
Our Dragon routine is world famous and has won many International competitions across the globe making it extra unique and special to have at your event.
